In memoriam

The Stanier Mogul Fund mourns the passing of Chris Proudfoot on Tuesday 24th May. Chris was, for many years, heavily involved in the running of the SMF, most prominently in the role of Membership Officer. Many knew him as fireman on countless SMF charter and footplate experience trains, too. All who encountered him spoke of his warmth and generous spirit.

Following retirement from the SMF Committee of Management, Chris dedicated a huge amount of time and energy to the new-build project ’The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust’. Chris will be much missed amongst the heritage railway movement, and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
