Overhaul update

General view of the trailing end. The cross beam is acting as a temporary dragbox to allow the loco to be moved.

Lower cross plate of the new dragbox in position and being drilled for the various other components. The item at the top of the picture is the steady bracket for the rear of the firebox. The items to the left are new longitudinal stretchers.

Removed items part way through renovation, some merely cleaned, some in grey primer, including the front draw hook and three brake hangers.

Left Trailing brake hanger bracket. Like the other five, its rivets have been drilled prior to removal, when the hole through them will be made perpendicular and truly circular.

Relay arm to transmit the movement of the brake cylinder piston to the linkage, freshly finish painted.

A working party member grinding the heads of rivets securing the firebox steady bracket to its cross stretch, this latter to be replaced by new metal.

Underneath the leading end where the pony truck normally resides. The grey primer is all applied and the first coats of black top coat are being added. The vertical pin visible engages with the pony truck slides to control side movement and provide guidance for the loco on curves.
