Overhaul update

The new rear buffer beam temporarily in place, ensuring accurate alignment of the frame extensions during the welding process.

The inside connections between the frame extensions and buffer beam. The attaching brackets are also new. The fastenings are temporary bolts only, but the assembly will eventually be riveted.

The floor behind the left hand trailing coupled wheel before brushing up, and littered with the stubs of used welding rods.

This cross stretcher will mount the firebox transverse stay once fitted. The original wasted stretcher cannot be removed until the trailing wheelset has been dropped out, probably within the next few weeks. This photo shows the rear face viewed from what will become the top.

Underneath the front end in the space normally occupied by the pony truck. These show the pin which locates the truck slides to provide the centring action.
